About Rebecca

My mother, an avid non-fiction reader, former coach, and nomad, instilled in me a love of reading, basketball, and exploration. As a child, we moved around a lot, so meeting new people came effortlessly to me after a while, even if I didn't quite fit in. For the majority of my life, I stood out because of my skin tone; I wasn't Black, nor was my skin White. I also had frizzy hair, glasses, and liked to read more than anything else.

I was raised to consider others based on their integrity and character, so I didn't understand why I was picked on or singled out by others for my skin. I felt out of place, confused, and angry for many years, yet these experiences ultimately shaped me into a more empathetic adult; someone who wants to make everyone feel welcome and respected for who they are.

Helping others realize their full potential and overcome the obstacles that stand in their way gives me enormous joy and purpose - whether it's writing guides that establish best practices, asking tough questions that mitigate risk, or leading the example, I enjoy it all, no matter how difficult the task. David Goggins has taught me that overcoming obstacles is more important than avoiding them in order to strengthen our minds in the long term.

Miguel, my fiancé, introduced me to Goggins. We like learning about mindset, manifestation, and other topics together. When we're not talking about the future of AI, studying the stock market, or listening to Joe Dispenza, we're in the gym, riding our beach cruisers, or camping somewhere by a lake with our Chihuahua, Gui.
